Race Report by John Sainz
July 30, 2011: Great day at
Oakland Valley Speedway today and thanks to John Diotte for the great racing
surface. Very fast tonight. Exciting Heavys Money Race
with eleven entered and some good racing in the heats as well as the feature.
It was our first race of the night and it went to an always fast Billy Wood who
took the win over a close JJ Pacovich and Corey Wood. Thought these two guys
could run down Billy Wood and take his money away, but not this time. Seems to be dialed in every time he comes here. Good race.
The regular Heavys class race also was won by Billy Wood, who pulled away for
the win with Alex Wanerus second and Corey Wood taking third again. In the
Lights class, Steven Gully picked up his fourth win in a close race with Glen
Varner right on his bumper. Ed Owens took third place. In Senior Stock, Scott
Thomas wins in back to back weeks in a good race with Aaron Turner. Bob
Reynolds took third. A heavy wreck in the heat race saw Dan(our
flagman) Ryder get his kart bent up pretty bad. Hope your feeling well today
Dan. In Mediums, Alex Wanerus takes the win over David Thatcher,Jr.
The Junior Slingshot class saw Erin
Paulison pick up her sixth win this season over Isaiah Masker and Alex
Yankowski. In Senior Slingshot, Fast Eddie Reiley picked up his seventh win
this season by pulling away from Joey Massimilla and John Mann. In Rookie
Champs, Devin Greer continues to run well and takes the win over an improving
Jake Mason. In the Junior Sportsman Champ class, Sean Glennon picked up his
seventh win of the season with Ryan Quackenbush taking second and Anthony Wood
third. Trevor Ross gets his seventh win this year in Junior Clone. Anthony
Roselli wins in Junior 1. Kristoffer Talmadge was our Junior Rookie tonight and
in Junior 2, Flyin Ryan Quackenbush battled with Sean Glennon for the lead with
Ryan taking the win, his second, after some engine trouble for Sean. It was
setting up for another great finish by these two young drivers. Sean was able
to coast around to take second with Jake Lowther third. Junior Stock class saw
points leader McKenzie Hasenflue pick up her third win this year in a
good battle with Dominick Roselli. Patrick Dempsey took third. In Junior 3,
someone finally took down the Dominator Dominick Roselli and that was Charlie
Lowther, picking up his second win of the season. It was a great race right to
the end with these two guys battling it out for the checkered flag. Patrick
Hayes was a very close third.
